Albert the Rat is a digital showcase of the collected archives of the cartoon strip ‘Albert the Experimental Rat’ created & drawn by British cartoonist David Austin.

First published briefly in 1975, then again in 1978/1979, Albert didn’t resurface for another 8 years till he was resurrected in ‘New Scientist’ magazine, where he lasted over 3 years before being retired.

The app includes:
• A full library of all 181 Albert cartoon strips ever produced
• Letters from readers who weren’t happy with the depiction of Albert, as well as those who saw the funny side
• Reprint of origami article showing how to create a paper Albert
• Possible sightings of Albert from within the pages of the ‘New Scientist’ magazine
• Profile of Albert’s creator David Austin
• Acknowledgements to the large number of individuals, publications and organisations that have given their permission to use Albert content

Note that this is a collection of cartoon strips and there is currently no animated ‘Albert’ content.
